Applied Mechanics (AM)

The Applied Mechanics study programme is primarily focused on the numerical and experimental methods of mechanics, as well as their application in the engineering and automotive industry. It is a promising programme, the graduates of which find employment in research and development centres as expert activity and computer simulation specialists. The programme at the Doctoral level provides students with great scientific potential and extensive research opportunities. The scientific activities of Doctoral students are focused on material research, numerical and experimental method development, mechanical system and structure analysis, limit state evaluation, reliability and service life of components and structures.

The study of Applied Mechanics opened the door to the world of experimental and numerical mechanics. I have learned a lot, which I thank to the ever willing guidance and advice of the teachers. I see the great advantage of this field in its focus on the never-stopping development.

Applied Mechanics is not one of the easiest study programmes, but it is the right choice for those who like a challenge. The atmosphere at the department, as well as the approach and support is great. Additionally, graduates of Applied Mechanics have a number of doors open in the field of development. You just have to put in the effort :)
